The Elizabethtown-White Lake Chamber is working to create a multi-week promotion that will bring visitors to our area and encourage residents to shop local. Keeping with COVID cautionary guidelines, the chamber has developed some fun and safe activities that kick-off on Friday, November 27 and last until Christmas.
The ad campaign is “ Come for the Shopping, Stay for the Lights”, using the popular Festival of Lights at Lu Mil Vineyard and the new Lighting of the Lake as lures. The Warm Southern Christmas is being promoted through ads in Our State Magazine in November and December (see ad to the left), a radio campaign, a newspaper buy in area and surrounding print and on-line news sources.
Here are several ways our merchants and restaurants can participate:
- Business Storefront decorating Contest: being judged on Friday, Nov. 27
- Sidewalk Sales on Nov. 27-29
- SCAVENGER HUNT from Nov. 28—Dec. 19 : Visitors can download or pick up the Christmas Scavenger Card at area merchants or the Chamber Office, they will visit local merchants to locate the E-WL ELF and get their card punched. When the card is punched by so many places, they can drop off at the Chamber office and be entered to win a large stocking filled with items from merchants.
- Christmas Tree Grove at the Farmer’s Market: Sponsor your own tree and decorate it based on the theme – Tribute to Our Essential Workers or just donate a gift certificate to be awarded to the winner of the best decorated tree.
To participate in any of these programs, please fill out the Merchant Participation form and return to the Chamber office.
