Welcome to Mother Nature’s Playground!

We’re so glad you’re here! Whether you’ve come to float in the clear waters of White Lake, hike under the tall pines at Jones Lake State Park, or just enjoy the slower pace of small-town life, Bladen County is ready to welcome you with open arms and wide open spaces.

Around here, we call it Mother Nature’s Playground—and it’s just as fun as it sounds! But like any great playground, it stays awesome when everyone plays nice. That’s where you come in.

🌲 Help Keep Our Outdoors Amazing

Bladen County is proud to be part of the Outdoor NC movement, which works hand-in-hand with Leave No Trace to keep North Carolina’s natural places healthy and beautiful.

By following a few simple (and easy!) guidelines, you can help make sure the trails, lakes, and forests you love stay magical for everyone else who visits after you.

💚 7 Friendly Tips for Responsible Fun Outdoors

  1. Plan Ahead (Adventure Smart!)
Check the weather, know the rules, and bring what you need. It makes the day smoother—and way more fun.

  2. Stick to Trails (Nature Has a Path for a Reason)
Stay on marked trails to protect plants and keep your shoes mud-free (win-win!).

  3. Trash Your Trash (Yes, Even That Granola Wrapper)
If you pack it in, pack it out. Bonus points if you pick up litter you didn’t drop—you’re officially an eco-hero.

  4. Leave It As You Found It (Take Only Photos)
That cool rock or flower? It looks best right where it is. Snap a photo instead!

  5. Be Careful With Fire (Smokey Thanks You!)
Use fire pits if they’re available, keep fires small, and make sure they’re totally out before you leave.

  6. Keep Wildlife Wild (No Snacks for Squirrels)
Admire animals from a distance and don’t feed them. Trust us—they’re cuter when they’re wild.

  7. Be Nice to People & Pets (Trail Vibes Only)
Share the trail, say hello, and keep your pets on a leash so everyone feels safe and welcome.

🌎 Good Vibes Go a Long Way
