ONE-ON-ONE MARKETING ADVISE FOR SMALL BUSINESSES
July Chamber Member Meeting
Think about your audience’s needs and the best way to use social media to communicate with them, Fayetteville-based Marketing Expert Beth Hess told the participants during the virtual July Member Meeting, hosted by the Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, July 14.
Hess said that during this time of social distancing, both retail and service-based businesses should consider their on-line presence as another means of operating. Hess highlighted 3 ways to utilize the tools on Facebook right now:
- Post reminders of the way your customers and followers can interact with you now: in person, on-line, deliveries, phone contact, etc. Change your “call to action” button on the top right of your page to say: shop now, call now, contact us. This can be done in your settings.
- Post collections of your products or information on your services on your business page and in Facebook Marketplace. No transactions are made, but it is a good way to connect with current and potential customers. There is no cost to provide the information.
- Use Facebook Shop. Customers can purchase directly from you.
Participant Robin Summerlin of Front Porch Party Rentals said that he really enjoyed the meeting. “I’m planning to pursue this free internet marketing opportunity,” Summerlin added, “This is a good way to go in this day and time.”
Hess spoke to the Chamber Members as part of the Reboot, Recover, Rebuild: R3 program provided by the Small Business Center at Bladen Community College. Todd Lyden, SBC Director, explained that Hess was one of the consultants available to clients for one-on-one consultation. Marketing advise is just one of many other topics that could be covered including finances and accounting, legal, human resource, marketing and more. There is no charge for this service.
