Harmony Hall Plantation
Visit the stately home of Revolutionary War officer Colonel James A. Richardson. Built prior to 1768, the home sits on 12,000 acres along the Cape Fear River. Harmony Hall is open on Saturdays from 10 AM until 2 PM and on Sundays from 2 PM until 4PM. Period craftsmen may be observed making soap, cooking outdoors and blacksmithing. Tours of the house and grounds can be arranged. Special seasonal events include a picnic and exhibits on the first Saturday in May and a holiday open house during the first week of December.
